In my opinion, the most important aspect of Community Relations at a professional sports team is finding innovative ways to pour back into the communities that make up your current and future fanbase. How can your team show up and meet the needs of the communities where we take-up space?
Well, I am pleased to say that here at the Washington Nationals, we take workforce development and student learning seriously. Today, we partnered with District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), Destination DC, and the American Experience Foundation to host Job Shadow Day!! Students got the chance to shadow individual Front Office staff members and heard from a dynamic panel.
Thank you to the DCPS Chancellor for his opening remarks on the importance of opportunity, Black History Month, and co-curricular learning.
Additionally, a warm thank you to all the front office staff who took time out of their day (as we get ready for Spring Training!!) to impart knowledge and support.
