World Leprosy Day (WLD) In India, Leprosy Awareness event is recognised as “Anti-Leprosy Day” which is celebrated on Tuesday, 30 January 2024, on Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary as Gandhiji worked relentlessly for the upliftment of Leprosy patients. The theme for World Leprosy Day 2024 is “Beat Leprosy”. This theme encapsulates the dual objectives of the day: to eradicate the stigma associated with Leprosy and to promote the dignity of people affected by the disease.
