Thailand's opportunity  to be the host of ICCA 2023, is emphasizing the potentials of MICE in Thailand. The International Congress and Convention Association or ICCA, is the world's major international association dedicated to the international association meetings industry. It consists of over 1,100 members in 100 countries worldwide and has organized continuous congresses for 62 editions. Thailand has been chosen as the host for the third time for The 62nd International Congress and Convention Association Congress 2023, following the first occasion in 1984 in Bangkok and in 2007 in Chonburi province. This year Thailand will host the congress with the concept of sustainability enhancement by organizing a carbon neutral event to avoid, reduce, and offset net carbon dioxide emissions to zero and emphasize Bangkok's environmental success. Being the host of the 62nd ICCA congress reinforces Thailand's image as an international conference destination, both quantity and quality. It enhances revenue generation and drives the country's economy and society forward. It also serves as a significant opportunity to drive the industry and the economy, aligning with the twenty-year strategic plan to move Bangkok forward as the 'vibrant heart of Asia' and opens doors to global business opportunities that enhance entrepreneurial capabilities and promote MICE and tourism in Thailand. The ICCA congress will be held on November 12-15, 2023. It is expected to contribute to the GDP impact of over 59 million baht, stimulate economic activity worth 105 million baht, and generate marketing value of more than 300 million baht. This serves as Thailand's economic stimulation and network expansion to position Thailand as a World community alongside ICCA. We published a report about the China International Import Expo. In the lead up to the 6th CIIE taking place from this weekend, we surveyed our member companies in Shanghai about their experiences with the CIIE. We found that participation has fallen since the first CIIE in 2018 by 10 percentage points. While renewal rates remain high, new attendees have been harder to attract due to logistical barriers and high costs of participation - especially for SME. Overall, it is seen by our members as a political show, best placed for promotion and marketing rather than business impacts.
