Welcome Career Ready Interns!
This summer, organizations across the city have begun to welcome interns through the Career Ready Internship Program.
AEF helped place over 50 high school students with host employers across the city. These employers showcase our vast industry to our future colleagues – current Academy of Hospitality and Tourism, Culinary Arts and Mass Media students.
The American Experience Foundation is proud to host 11 students for six weeks this summer:
- Camiyah Price, Ballou High School
- Charity Jones, Jackson-Reed High School
- Destanie Coleman, Coolidge High School
- Dominga Trice, Jackson-Reed High School
- Erick Torres Flores, Coolidge High School
- Heaven Taylor, Coolidge High School
- Jahmiaya Mosley, Jackson-Reed High School
- Kori Johnson, Coolidge High School
- Marcella Carroll, Ballou High School
- Nia Diggs, Jackson-Reed High School
- Samuel Grand, Jackson-Reed High School
Our interns will explore how sustainability and diversity, equity and inclusion values can and do come to life in the travel and tourism industry. Interns will meet with hoteliers, leaders in the arts, restaurants, government, community partners and more! Their internships will culminate with final projects that share the students’ vision for the workplaces of the future.
We need you! If you’re interested in judging weekly or final presentations, please sign up here.
If you’re interested in hosting a tour and talking about what your company is doing to be more sustainable, please contact Lisa Waldschmitt, AEF’s Senior Foundation Manager.
