Member Volleyball Tournament | Feb. 17, 4-7:30 p.m.

The DDC Member Volleyball Tournament returns for its sixth year. Register as an individual player for a night of fun, food and friendly competition on the Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic court. Tournament winners will receive bragging rights and exciting prizes, and proceeds will benefit the American Experience Foundation.

Why It Matters: The program provides emerging young professionals the opportunity to receive skills training and guidance from leading industry professionals over the summer.

Go Deeper:

  • As a fully paid opportunity by the DC Department of Employment Services, hosting an intern comes at no cost to the employer.  
  • The students are high school juniors and seniors studying Hospitality and Tourism, Culinary Arts, Mass Media and Communications and Information Technology
  • Students work 20-25 hours per week for six weeks (June 25 – Aug. 4). We are seeking in-person and hybrid internship opportunities.

DDC’s tourism team continues to host and attend events for tour operators from around the world to highlight the benefits of visiting DC. This month, DDC is partnering with Air Canada to welcome travel agents and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority to welcome American Airlines. The international sales team is also restarting our Welcome China program where members learn about hospitality best practices for the Chinese market.
