Celebrating Women’s History Month
This March, our schools celebrated women leaders in their industries across media, business, hospitality, culinary, IT, automotive and health, creating impactful panels for students to explore different career paths, professional preparation and overall industry outlook.
Ballou High School hosted over 40 students for "Women in CTE Month" with Adventure Tours, Carmines and DDC. The afternoon included a luncheon, followed by 1:1 conversations between students and leaders.
Coolidge Media Network hosted a dynamic panel led by students, "Breaking the Frame: She Creates. She Produces. She Leads." Afterward, students designed takeaway journals to capture their notes, reflections and goals. Professionals from It's Sommer Time Podcast, DC Public Schools and DDC spoke to a group of 30 students.
