On May 21, NEXTDC partnered with Educated Eats and the Washington Area Concierge Association to celebrate the next generation of DC hospitality leaders. The Building Futures: Honoring DC Hospitality Scholars ceremony awarded 29 students and young professionals with hospitality, tourism, culinary and media scholarships and honorariums. High school students from Westinghouse Academy in Pittsburgh, Pa. spent three days exploring DC monuments, museums, local gems and neighborhoods. Led by Educational Tours, Inc., Student & Youth Travel Association Youth Foundation and NEXTDC, the fully sponsored trip enabled 24 culinary and career academy students to visit DC, many for the first time.
