Dear Members,
Despite circumstances that were out of our control, Destination DC's annual 4th of July fundraiser on the roof of the American Pharmacists Association took place and from what I could see, was a lot of fun. What a spectacular firework display to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. It felt particularly special to celebrate DC’s students this year and the part they will play in America’s future. Proceeds from the event support hospitality and tourism education for local public school students through our affiliated nonprofit, NEXTDC.
You can continue supporting NEXTDC by purchasing tickets to DDC’s annual Marketing Outlook Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at George Washington University. We’ll discuss the latest data, trends and how to leverage opportunities to grow visitation in 2027.
DDC continues to help locals and visitors enjoy 250th celebrations all year, with hotel deals and special itineraries for every traveler. We also welcome the return of our most beloved summer moments. Among many others, the Mubadala DC Open brings pro tennis back to Rock Creek Park from July 25 – Aug. 2, the Great American Farmers Market arrives Aug. 3-8 and the Freedom 250 Grand Prix revs up Aug. 22-23.
