This summer, NEXTDC hosted Hospitality & Tourism, Mass Media and Culinary Arts Career Ready Interns (CRIs) on an epic six-week learning journey. Through iconic DC events, conversations with inspiring small business leaders and exposure to innovative career pathways and industries, scholars were challenged to look beyond the present and imagine the NEXT 250 in their city. The goal? To help the next generation of leaders see themselves building careers in hospitality, tourism and media.
- 12 interns completed the summer experience and delivered final presentations at The Square Conference Center
- 40 judges supported student growth, providing feedback on weekly presentations
- 30+ field trip partners and guest speakers helped bring DC to life through hands-on learning and exploration
